What you'll be doing

  • Providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.
  • Sharing your knowledge and passion for sewing, fabrics, haberdashery and crafting.
  • Assisting customers with fabric selection, sewing projects and product recommendations.
  • Troubleshooting and providing basic guidance on sewing machine operation and common issues.
  • Demonstrating sewing products and helping customers find solutions to their creative needs.
  • Maintaining the presentation and organisation of the Sew Centre department.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider store team to achieve sales and customer service goals.
  • Learning and staying up to date with our extensive sewing and craft product range.

Approximately 4 days per week.

The ideal candidate

  • Experience with sewing, garment construction, quilting, dressmaking, alterations or other sewing-related skills.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrics, sewing notions and sewing machine functionality.
  • Confidence in troubleshooting common sewing machine issues and assisting customers with product enquiries.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and late-night trade.
  • A positive, enthusiastic and customer-focused attitude.
