We are seeking an experienced Business Planner to join our dynamic team at Spotlight. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence business performance through strategic planning, data-driven insights, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will play a key role in driving sales, optimising inventory, and supporting both strategic and tactical initiatives across the business.

What You Will Be Doing
Financial Planning: provide monthly re-forecasts using all available information; inclusive of indicators such as sales, stock, GMROI, stock turns, and margins
Inventory Management: provide accurate business analysis and strong guidance to the Merchandise & Leadership teams to maximise sales and margin and to optimise inventory. Drive the Markdown process to deal with slow sellers and end of life Articles
Replenishment: manage replenishment parameters, oversee the allocations process and work with the Demand Planners to optimise inventory levels
Analysis and Reporting: collate data and report on purchasing, inventory, product, marketing, markdowns and sales activities. Influence the Marketing Plan based on lessons learnt and identified tactical opportunities
Teamwork: working with multiple teams and individuals in Spotlight as well as working with our Vendors. Building relationships and taking a collaborative approach to achieve business operational and strategic objectives
Leadership: coach and develop the Inventory Analyst to achieve in their role and achieve KPIs
Strategic Planning: drive the biannual category review and forward planning process within the team and achieve sign off
Tactical Planning: supporting the delivery of the Sales and Marketing plans on a day to day and week to week basis
About You
Must have demonstrated Planning experience 4+ years in Retail
Extensive Analytical, Reporting and Forecasting experience
Excellent knowledge of retail operations, large store formats / category killers and bulky good formats
Strong ability to interpret data and results
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills
Advanced Excel skills
