We're seeking a talented and motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team. This hybrid role offers a unique blend of challenges and rewards, allowing you to make a significant impact on our business.

What you'll do

As a Senior Financial Accountant at Spotlight Retail Group, you'll will be reporting to the Finance Manager to play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register for management accounting and statutory accounting purposes in an appropriate and timely manner
• Provide monthly reconciliations of the FAR to the General Ledger.
• Process and approve internal orders for new projects
• Provide relevant stakeholders with capital project reports on a monthly basis
• Provide Budget and Forecast CAPEX data as required to support the Commercial Analysis team.
• Support the completion of the Fixed Asset notes to the financial statements by providing data schedules related to fixed assets.
• Supporting the month end and year end close process, including journal preparation and reconciliations for P&L and balance sheet accounts
• Preparing variance analysis against Last Year and Forecast
• Supporting the annual audit process
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance financial efficiency
• Assisting in the coaching and mentoring of junior team members
• Provide backup support to other finance team roles as required

What you'll bring

• Must have 5+ years of relevant experience in financial accounting role
• Bachelor of accounting + CA or CPA qualified
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to manage own workflow and meet deadlines
• Proven ability to effectively multi-task and problem solve quickly 
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software (SAP preferred)
• Prior experience in the Retail Industry will be desirable
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
• A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a passion for retail
• Team orientated and with willingness to initiate continuous improvement
• Proactive and capable of investigating anomalies as they arise
