Spotlight Property Group (SPG) is seeking a seasoned Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of a rapidly growing property group. This pivotal role will require a highly skilled professional to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis.

You'll play a crucial role in managing our financial operations across Australia and New Zealand. This includes financial processing, forecasting, reporting, and ensuring compliance. You'll also mentor and develop our finance team to maintain high standards and knowledge sharing.

 

What you'll do

Business Partnering:

  • Collaborate closely with Asset Management Teams in Australia and New Zealand to identify and capitalize on commercial opportunities for revenue generation and cost reduction.
  • Partner with the Group CFO, Deputy Chairman, and other key stakeholders

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and review timely and accurate monthly management reports for ANZ
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to strengthen reporting.
  • Collaborate with Asset Managers to prepare and present monthly financial updates.

Budgeting and Compliance:

  • Develop and oversee annual property budgets, fostering collaboration across finance, asset management, lease administration, and facilities management.
  • Oversee the month-end financial closing process, including P&L review and balance sheet reconciliation and conduct annual property outgoings audits
  • Ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand GST/BAS regulations

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Develop and support team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

 

What you'll bring

  • Accounting and Finance: Strong foundation in accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Financial Software: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) and financial modelling tools.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and interpret results.
  • Compliance: Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand tax regulations, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of business operations, financial metrics, and strategic planning.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a positive work environment and driving performance.
  • Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Financial Reporting: Experience in preparing and analysing financial reports, including management accounts and statutory financial statements and experience in developing and managing budgets.
