Reporting to the Group Safety Manager, you will champion safety across Spotlight Retail Group focussing on our Distribution Centres (DCs).

You will develop, implement and monitor effective safety initiatives and play a crucial role in ensuring our facility adheres COR obligations, fostering a safe environment for dynamic distribution centre team meeting all legislative requirements, and prioritizing the well-being of our employees.

 

What You Will Be Doing

Health & Safety & Risk Management:

  • Uphold safety policies, procedures, legislation and report hazards and incidents aligned with COR requirements in a DC environment
  • Liaise with external regulatory bodies regarding COR compliance audits
  • Champion risk management and injury prevention to train teams, assess sites, and identify workplace hazards
  • Identify, develop and disseminate Safety Information Cards (SIC’s) and develop Safety Alerts for distribution across the business

Incident / hazard reporting and investigation"

  • Support incident investigations, take corrective actions and monitor incident trends to report findings and conduct analysis of incidents/hazards to identify trends

Quality System /Auditing & Compliance activities and Advice

  • Assist with audits, manage corrective actions and compliance, and monitor stores.
  • Oversee contractor compliance and work with brands on safety improvements.

 

About You

  • Certificate IV in Health & Safety or related field, understanding of state legislation.
  • Must have strong understanding of COR program requirements and best practices
  • Deep knowledge of warehouse operations, transport, and managing third-party providers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, coach, and build relationships.
  • Sound computer skills and experience with management system implementation.
  • Valid driver's license, Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment, experience in retail supply chain, and procedure development.
